Education takes centre stage at WFX
US: Education is intended to be one of the major benefits for technicians heading to this year’s Worship Facilities Conference and Expo (WFX). According to the organiser, the educational programme running alongside the main expo has been adapted to reflect ‘up to the moment needs and trends in churches’.
This year’s education programme has been built around ‘eight critical areas’ of church needs. This will see tracks on communications and social media, church and facility management, building design and construction, multi-site churches, staff development, tech director essentials, tech team training and development, worship leader essentials and worship team training and development. Visitors can expect to hear from a range of experts from within the worship and manufacturing community.
Furthermore, a particular favourite of the expo among audio engineers and systems integration companies in previous years has been the WFX International Loudspeaker Demo, which this year brings together 28 different speaker systems for side-by-side demonstrations.
The demos will take pace in two separate areas, one for compact loudspeakers and the other for portable audio systems. Notable participants include Martin Audio, which will field its MLA systems, including the MLA Mini and MLA Compact, and EAW, offering its Redline and newly-released Anna adaptive system. Also taking part is Renkus-Heinz, which will demo its IC2 point source system.
In addition to the demos, over 225 exhibitors will be at the expo, including Absen, AJA Video Systems, Alcons Audio, Analog Way, AV Stumpfl, Avid, Aviom, Barco, Blackmagic Design, Bose, Cadac, Chauvet, DiGiCo, DPA Microphones, Earthworks, ETC, Harman, Hitachi, KV2 Audio, L-Acoustics, Lawo, Lectrosonics, Listen Technologies, Neutrik, Panasonic, Pesa, Point Source Audio, Presonus, Primacoustic, RCF, Roland, Ross Video, Sennheiser, Sony, Tannoy, Turbosound, Vitec, Vue Audiotechnik, XTA and Yamaha.
WFX takes place at Nashville’s Music City Centre on 18th to 19th November. A number of peripheral events are taking place alongside the main show, a full programme of which can be downloaded form the WFX website, here.
