Fulcrum provides an education in portability
AUSTRALIA: Christian College, an independent school with five campuses spread across Geelong, has recently taken stock of a new portable sound solution comprising five Fulcrum Acoustic FA28ac loudspeakers. The school's Major Events team required a suitable system for a wide range of events, from school band performances, musical theatre productions and débutante balls to art shows and assemblies, some taking place on its campuses and others at nearby external venues.
The school therefore required portability in addition to specifying a system capable of delivering clarity across the varied applications it would be used for. Another consideration was that the solution be easy to handle and set up for staff and students. Having used systems from Fulcrum Acoustic in the past, Christian College’s Major Events team turned to the manufacturer once again.
‘Based on their familiarity with Fulcrum Acoustic systems I'd provided them over the past few years, Fulcrum became the logical choice for the school's portable PA,’ said Simon Stavenuiter, audio producer and Fulcrum’s Australian distribution representative. ‘The five FA28ac self-powered dual 8-inch coaxial loudspeakers they purchased can be deployed as mains, as in the case of their assemblies and services, and can also be used as stage monitors for larger venues outside the school such as Deakin University's Costa Hall, which is also home to an in-house Fulcrum subwoofer cardioid array.’
‘The Fulcrum FA28ac loudspeakers' sound quality and evenness provides incredibly consistent intelligibility for our entire audience,’ noted Ben Anderson, Major Events technical director at Christian College. ‘Their compact, light-weight enclosures make for easy handling and an aesthetically pleasing setup.’
