IACQatar installs Toro Toro
QATAR: Al Isteklal - IACQatar (IACQatar) has recently completed a project to design, supply and install the new audio system at Toro Toro restaurant in Doha’s Kempinski The Pearl Hotel. IACQatar won the contract thanks to its status as a trusted A/V supplier to the hotel’s main contractor, Construction Development Company (CDC).
The installation at Toro Toro called on products from TW Audio, Powersoft, Klark Teknik, Cloud, Neutrik and Pioneer. IACQatar installed 16 TW Audio M8 speakers around the 416-seat pan-Latin American restaurant with low end reinforcement from eight of the manufacturer’s B15 P 15-inch bass reflex subs. Eight Powersoft K3DSP digital amplifiers power the system.
‘The client insistied on having a very decorative small speaker combined with a very compact subwoofer,’ explained project manager, Elie Salameh. ‘The TW Audio M8 is a small, multifunctional speaker for small venues. Combined with the B15 single 15-inch subwoofer it is enough for medium-sized lounge restaurants like Toro Toro. This type of speaker helped us in terms of the design and coverage for the low ceiling height of the restaurant.’
IACQatar opted to use a Cloud DCM1 zone mixer with eight CDR-1W remote control wall plates providing local control. Also in use is a Yamaha O1V96i digital mixing console, four Klark Teknik SQ1 stereo graphic equalisers, Neutrik connectors and Pioneer DJ players and mixers.
It was a two month project for IACQatar to design, supply, install, test and commission the solution. The main challenge came from the restaurant’s low ceiling height, added to this was distributing the system into the various VIP rooms and blending it in with Toro Toro’s interior design.
‘We are all very satisfied with the quality of the equipment and the effect of it in our outlet, for us atmosphere is as important as the quality of food and the service and music is one of the main factors to create a proper one. Also the system is very easy to operate,’ said Toro Toro general manager, Venise Manif. ‘We had prompt responses for all of our inquires, and the IACQatar team was very attentive and patient with our concerns.’
‘It’s was a big challenge for us and we are very happy with this success,’ concluded Mr Salameh. ‘The best thing for the IACQatar team though was to win the trust of our client and end user.’
