IBC starts up new forum for 2017

Published: WORLD

WORLD: IBC has announced that a new initiative, Startup Forum, will debut at the 2017 edition of its Amsterdam-based trade show in association in Media Honeypot. Startup Forum aims to bring together digital media start-ups, media houses and investors for a series keynote presentations, panel sessions and pitching and networking opportunities. IBC 2017 runs from 14 to 19 September with Startup Forum taking place on 17 September.

‘In 2017, the media and entertainment business is being transformed by innovative and entrepreneurial start-ups,’ declared IBC CEO Michael Crimp. ‘For this reason, established media houses and investors are actively seeking out the new technologies that will lead the next wave of growth. IBC 2017 is embracing this opportunity by launching the IBC Startup Forum.’

Start-ups and young companies in areas such as VR and AR, social media, advertising technology, AI, eCommerce, eSports, mobile apps, search engine marketing and SEO are invited to apply to take part in the forum. Media Honeypot and IBC will select approximately 75 businesses to attend based on the deemed level of interest from media investors. Successful applicants will then have the opportunity to acquire discounted tickets and to pre-arrange meetings with media houses, VCs and investors.

‘We are delighted to be working with IBC on this brand-new initiative,’ concluded Heikki Rotko, co-founder and chairman of Media Honeypot.
