Indosiar TV upgrades its intercom system to FreeSpeak II
INDONESIA: PT. Indosiar Visual Mandri (Indosiar TV) has upgraded its intercom system to Clear-Com’s FreeSpeak II, reportedly resolving interference issues it had been experiencing with its wireless intercom. The decision to upgrade comes as the station is set to produce a live talent variety show which requires quick and responsive communications between crew members and master control. It was installed in Indosiar TV’s Daan Magot studio complex in West Jakarta and was supplied by Afandi Chandraputra, a local Clear-Com dealer.
FreeSpeak II supports digital intercom transmissions in both the 1.9 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands, and is designed to resolve communication conflicts for producers who use multiple wireless devices. It also reportedly expands its wireless coverage footprint by adding additional antenna transceivers to the systems coverage boundary.
‘The FreeSpeak II’s ability to transmit in the 1.9 GHz band means that we no longer have to worry about interference from 2.4 GHz wireless microphones and in-ear monitors,’ explained Agapitus Kristanta, an Indosiar TV spokesperson. ‘In the past, operating in 2.4 GHz caused real problems for our legacy wireless intercom systems. Although it worked reliably, interface issues have cropped up in recent years as other 2.4 GHz devices have been deployed at Indosiar TV, disrupting vital intercom communications during productions.
‘We are happy to have adopted the new system throughout our studio complex,’ continued the spokesperson. ‘In fact, we have been working with Clear-Com intercoms for years and we are very satisfied with their ruggedness and quality.’
‘Clear-Com is very happy to help a long-time customer like Indosiar TV get even more out of their intercom systems by upgrading,’ commented Hans Chia, Clear-Com’s regional sales manager for South East Asia. ‘We also appreciate their long standing loyalty and belief in us and our solutions.’
