K-Array keeps hidden for Yuna homecoming

Published: ASIA

MALAYSIA: A K-Array audio system was used at the Wisa Bentley Auditorium to support the recent homecoming concert for renowned Malaysian singer/songwriter Yuna. Tasked with supporting the audio production, Big A Productions and K-Array distributor Nextrend selected the equipment as it could provide ‘complete coverage for the entire venue while minimising sight lines’.

Titled An Evening with Yuna, the concert drew upon KR402 systems (KMT 21 subwoofer with KP102 satellites) placed on either side of the stage. A KRX202 system was used for delays to extend coverage throughout the whole room. The monitoring selected for Yuna came from a combination of in-ears together with four KF12 units.

‘We were able to connect Yuna with the audience in a way that made the system invisible, bringing the focus to the music and performance. This made everyone, from the clients to the audience, and the engineer to the performers, very happy and completely satisfied with the system by the end of the concert,’ explained Anthony Yap, chief audio engineer at Big A Productions.

This sentiment was echoed by Yuna’s own sound engineer, who commented that ‘the audio system is very easy to tune and the sound was evenly distributed throughout the hall without being too harsh for audience members sat next to the speaker.’
