Kupo adds more Hippotizers to its inventory
CHINA: Green Hippo’s Chinese distributor, Kupo, has added two new Hippotizer V4 Boreals and two flagship V4 Taiga servers to its growing inventory in preparation for a host of upcoming, large-scale events.
‘We love using Hippotizer because it's a very exciting and user friendly media server,’ offered Kupo product and sales manager, Bridget Chan. ‘The functionality and ease of access of the V4 UI makes calibrating media a snap. There are so many functions all bound into the user interface, such as Genlock, real-time manipulation, mix layers, the ability to record and save effects, warping and projector blending. Here in China, Green Hippo is a luxury, top of the line media server, bought by top industry professionals.’
Kupo has a strong relationship with a number of Chinese television stations and has slowly introduced them to Hippotizer media servers. One notable recent use of Hippotizer was for the Hunan TV Golden Eagle Television Awards – China's version of the Emmys. Hippotizers were also chosen to for Youku Live Events and enjoy more regular usage in unexpected places, such as the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.
‘What we love most about Green Hippo is its Shape program,’ added Ms Chan. ‘With Shape, it only takes four points to calibrate a 3D projection. We have been teaching our employees at Kupo about how to use Shape. Even the most media server-inexperienced can learn how to map a 3D projection. This year we really want to push V4 and showcase its Shape program's functionality. The applications of 3D projection are unlimited, from cars in car shows to buildings in large corporate events to product showcases in commercial promos. It's very popular in China, and with Shape, any designer can attain stunning results.’
‘We have worked with Kupo for a number of years, listening to and developing customer feedback and we are excited about the current success of Green Hippo products in the Chinese market,’ said Green Hippo VP of business development, Samantha Bailey. ‘We look forward to many more years of partnership and hope to keep the Kupo and Green Hippo relationship strong as we continue to break ground into the Chinese market.’
