Mahajak puts employees first at KBank

THAILAND: Thailand’s Kasikornbank, or KBank, is one of the oldest established banks in Thailand. Its success in providing a variety of products and services for personal, SME and corporate investors has seen the number of branches it operates swell to more than 1,000 branches in the last year and it is expected is to continue increasing at a similar rate in 2017. To cater to this rapid growth, the bank recently opened a new 11-storey office building located near the Impact Exhibition Center in Muangthong Thani in order to support employees and customers. Systems integrator Mahajak was enlisted to outfit almost 100 meeting rooms of varying size inside the new building with audio technologies.

‘As these rooms are there to benefit the employees' internal usage, they expect to get a full audio system for all rooms and great after-sales support from a professional team,’ stated Mahajak’s project sales engineer, Maruedon Boonphetcharat.

Of the 100 meeting rooms, 68 were small spaces each capable of seating from eight to 14 people and used for providing presentations from laptops. For these spaces, no audio system was required and Mahajak only supplied Razr WMW-A120 projection screens. The owner supplied 3000 ANSI short throw projectors in all 68.

Two larger meeting rooms required an audio system that would allow a presenter to move around freely, necessitating the use of wireless mics which were supplied by the venue owner. The 22-seat meeting room has been installed with four JBL Control14C/T loudspeakers and a JBL CSMA1120 mixer, while the larger 36-seat room has been outfitted with eight Control16C/T cabinets powered by a Crown CT4150 amplifier and making use of a BSS Blu-50 due to the ceiling height.

The visual system in both rooms is Blu-ray compatible and can also be used for presentations. In the smaller of the two rooms media content can be controlled via an AMX CP-3008 control panel, while the larger enjoys an AMX NX-2200.

A further eight project rooms of differing size were outfitted with screens and visual systems in a layout similar to the other two meeting rooms. However, these rooms are used for company project meetings and an audio system was not required. The installation layout is similar to other rooms and features AMX CP-3006 and CP-3008 panels respectively.

The company’s ‘War Room’ is divided into two sections and uses a VDO wall system arranged by the owner for system and meeting monitoring and an Extron videoconferencing set for meetings. This enables video to be displayed on 15 55-inch and 80-inch LED screens in the room both independently and as an integrated group, and offers wireless control via an iPad that is compatible with AMX. The audio equipment includes 14 Control14C/T speakers, Crown CT4150 amps and BSS Blu-100 processors, while the control system consists of an AMX NX-3200 and AMX MST-431.

For the remainder of the 16 conference rooms and five board rooms, Mahajak arranged interconnecting cables in order to use with portable systems that the bank provided.

Finally, Mahajak was also required to provide A/V reinforcement in the canteen, where a corporate private program is displayed through televisions mounted to the wall. Here, 24 JBL Control65P/T pendant speakers are powrered by a Crown CDi1000 amplifier and controlled by a 28M mixer.

According to the Mahajak project sales engineer, the hardest challenge was the very tight turnaround, however ‘thanks to our team we were able to handover the project on time,’ he concluded.
