Makarand Karanjkar assumes director of engineering role at Wohler
WORLD: Makarand Karanjkar has joined Wohler Technologies, taking on the role of director of engineering. In his new role, Mr Karanjkar will put his 18 years of software industry experience to use as he takes responsibility for creating products that align with the manufacturer’s strategic shift towards software-based monitoring solutions.
Mr Karanjkar joins Wohler from Prima Cinema Inc, where he served as CTO. Prior to that, he has held positions as IPTV architect at MobiTV and senior project engineer at Dolby Laboratories, where he led the team that developed the first generation secure Digital Cinema server. Mr Karanjkar also notably holds a pair of patents, one for IP-based frame synchronisation in a playback system, the other for accurate audio content match detection.
