Mic to Monitor heads down under
AUSTRALIA: UK manufacturer Prism Sound is bringing its educational Mic to Monitor series to Australia for the first time this year in partnership with its regional partner, CDA Pro Audio. As part of a tour programme taking place across three continents, the Australian leg of the tour will kick off on August 8th in Melbourne in conjunction with the Abbey Road Institute. The sessions are targeted at music production students, hobbyists and professionals, and aim to dispel the many myths surrounding the recording process.
Each seminar will feature presentations from recording professionals who will answer audience questions on recording techniques, in addition to pro audio equipment manufacturers that are supporting various events, including monitor brand Amphion and microphone partner Audio Technica.
Following the session in Melbourne, the programme will move to Sydney’s JMC Academy on August 10th followed by the Queensland Conservatorium in Brisbane on August 15th. Guest speakers will include ARIA award winning producers Mitch Cairns and Govinda Doyle, renowned mastering engineer Leon Zervos and sound engineer and audio educator Greg Simmons.
‘We’re proud to be working with our regional partner CDA on this leg of the 2016 tour. Extending our Mic to Monitor brand to Australia is really exciting and we are delighted to once again be partnering with the Abbey Road Institute, another internationally acclaimed brand,’ commented Graham Boswell, sales director of Prism Sound. ’No matter where you are in the world, there are always new recording tricks and techniques to be learned, even by people who are already making a successful living in this field. That’s what Mic to Monitor sets out to achieve – to impart knowledge by providing a vehicle for recording professionals to share their experience with the next generation of audio engineers.’
Places at Mic to Monitor 2016 events are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Those wishing to reserve a place should visit www.prismsound.eventbrite.com where details of venues, dates and guest presenters are available.
