APAC: A new APAC regional council and chairman have been elected at IABM. The trade association’s members selected the regional council, comprising figures from both APAC headquartered companies as well as international organisations, during Broadcast Asia.

‘Our initiative to establish councils in key regions around the world was designed to bring local knowledge and relevance to members in those regions, backed up by the full array of central IABM resources,’ explained IABM CEO, Peter White. ‘They have already proved to be very successful, and looking at the enormous breadth of industry experience and regional expertise that makes up the new APAC Regional Council, I expect much greater engagement for all our members in the region.’

On the council is Ashish Mukherjee of Benchmark Broadcast Systems (S) Pte Ltd, Cisco’s Chao Lin Loong, Charles Sevior from EMC and Elemental Technologies’ David Godfrey. Joining them are Jack Lin from Datavideo Technologies Co, Joe Khodeir of Imagine Communications, Axon’s Liming Fu, Mariano Monteverde from VSN, Paul Jones from Oracle, Robert Song of Atamos and Sushil Khanna of MediaGuru.

Elected as chairman on the APAC regional council was Dennis Breckenridge, CEO of Advanced Broadcast Solutions – Asia. With over two decades of experience within the broadcast and media industry and having served as a member of the council during the last year, Mr Breckenridge will serve as chairman for two years.

‘It is my great pleasure to serve as the chair for IABM APAC regional council,’ enthused Mr Breckenridge. ‘I want to help support its continued growth over the coming months with more events aimed at specific industry gaps to further benefit participating members. I will also help drive membership growth in APAC to achieve better representation in IABM overall.’

‘With the guidance of our new chairman, Dennis Breckenridge and the APAC council, I am confident that IABM influence in the APAC region will continue to grow to the benefit of all our members,’ added IABM director, Peter Bruce. ‘I am delighted by the makeup of the new IABM APAC Council; it will provide strong representation for the industry in the region.’
