Riedel ties the knot with Doha Celebration Complexes
QATAR: Riedel Communications MediorNet systems have been deployed as the networking backbone for a number of ‘celebration complexes’ in Doha. The project – installed and commissioned by regional systems integrator eMediaNet – has taken technology more usually applied in broadcasting environments and instead used it to support celebratory events such as weddings.
So far, two of a planned five celebration complexes have been equipped with MediorNet solutions, meaning they benefit from a fibre backbone allowingreal-time communications and signal transport. Each of the complexes consists of five halls, each accommodating up to 500 guests. The halls can be joined together as required to make one large space – the largest of its kind in Qatar, with an overall capacity of 2,500.
Under the control of the facility's Crestron system, MediorNet works alongside an Artist digital matrix intercom and RockNet real-time audio network to deliver media and supporting communications for all ceremonies.
‘MediorNet has proved to be a magical solution for the celebration complexes, offering exceptional performance and the flexibility needed to guarantee privacy for each celebration space,’ explained Mohsen Eldeeb, senior electrical engineer for the Qatar branch of Engineering Consultants Group and a consultant on the project. ‘The Riedel system is an optimal solution for the efficient sharing of video, audio, intercom, and network resources across the central control room and individual halls.’
‘Given the versatility of MediorNet, it's no surprise that it has found a home at the new Doha celebration complexes,' said Ahmed Magd El Din, general manager for the Middle East and Turkey at Riedel Communications. ‘With features and capabilities designed for the world's most prestigious and demanding live productions, MediorNet and our Artist and RockNet solutions are well-suited to supporting coordination and signal transport for milestone events and celebrations.’
