Roadster projectors bring ‘Beauty and the Beast’ to life in India
INDIA: Presented by Disney India, the stage version of Beauty and the Beast is being supported with on-stage visuals delivered by Christie Roadster projectors. The 130-minute production is in English with shows in Mumbai and Delhi taking place from October to December 2015, beginning with a performance at the Dome@NSCI, SVP Stadium in Mumbai on 21st October. Productions in Delhi take place at the Thyaharaj Sports Complex. Each venue seats around 2,500 people.
A total of five Christie Roadster HD20K-J 3DLP projectors have been deployed at each venue to project images onto the decorated stage sets, recreating locations such as Belle’s house, the tavern, the clock tower and of course the beast’s castle with Belle’s bedroom.
‘We are extremely pleased by the love and appreciation the show has received from audiences,’ said Vikranth Pawar, show director and creative head, live entertainment, Disney India. ‘The beast's castle is one of the crucial locations in the story and Christie technologies helped us to bring it alive through LED screens, which made the experience for the audiences even more magical.’
‘We are very honoured and proud to be associated with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast musical in India as the official visual technology partner. At Christie, we strongly believe in sharing the world’s best experiences and this musical extravaganza is the perfect platform to bring this timeless classic tale to life,’ offered Rajesh Patkar, deputy general manager, Christie India. ‘We are both delighted and excited to provide audiences with mesmerising visuals on stage using our Roadster HD20K-J projectors. This is an epic event that will be remembered by Indian audiences for a long time to come.’
