Ross Video supports NEP Australia’s coverage of Rio 2016
AUSTRALIA: As NEP Australia geared up to provide coverage of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics on Channel Seven, it built a studio equipped with Furio Robotics and an NK Router from Ross Video as well as openGear terminal equipment. Named the Rio Central studio, the facility included three platforms that provided full virtual and augmented reality capabilities. To assist the crew from the television network with the technology, Ross Video supplied support throughout the games.
‘Since selecting Ross to provide a VR robotic camera solution, the response and support has been excellent, and the performance of the robots and VR has been rock solid,’ noted Angus Millar, head of production at NEP Australia. ‘From shipping and system integration to training and commissioning, Ross was there every step of the way to ensure smooth operation of the Rio Central studio coverage 22 hours a day for the entire games. Ross Video’s commitment to NEP Australia’s delivery of the Channel Seven Rio Central studio project has been outstanding.’
‘We stand behind our products and their role for NEP Australia,’ added Ross Video’s regional sales manager for Oceanic territories, Amanda Leighton. ‘Ross is delighted to have supplied key technology for this important event.’
