SA Guitar and Music Expo attracts pro brands
SOUTH AFRICA: The recent SA Guitar and Music Expo attracted a number of pro audio brands to highlight the benefits that professional equipment can bring to musicians. The compact show provided space for a handful of distributors to demonstrate a variety of brands to interested crowds.
Hosted at the Wanderers Club in Johannesburg, the show was squarely aimed at musicians. As such, distributors such as Prosound decided to partner with their MI dealers to highlight a small amount of equipment. Prosound showed portable sound systems from Electro-Voice as well as mics and headphones from Audio-Technica on the Music Experience booth.
Elsewhere, a pair of distributors had decided to take stands in their own right. Wild & Marr showcased equipment from the Harman stable, such as JBL as well as microphones from Shure. Over on the Audiosure booth, pride of place was given to equipment from Allen & Heath with lighting from Chauvet also prominent.
Despite the small scale of the floorplan, the distributors all appeared to be happy with their presence and could see the benefit of targeting a different market sector.
