Shure provides reinforcement out on the lake at the G20 gala
CHINA: The capital of China’s Zhejiang province, Hangzhou, recently hosted the latest G20 Summit. While the summit was held at the newly-built Hangzhou International Expo Center, across the Qiantang River at West Lake, the visiting leaders were treated to an evening gala and performance, titled Impression West Lake Show. Shure provided the audio solution for the water show that included a symphony orchestra, a choir and singers performing on a floating stage. Due to the mobile nature of the stage and the use of many moving props, it was reportedly critical that the sound system could pick up the orchestra music and the performers’ vocals precisely.
To cater for the fact that performers were onstage in the middle of the lake, a wireless system was necessary to provide sound reinforcement. The manufacturer’s 32-channel Axient wireless management network, used by the main performers and for solo instrumental performances, was deployed for the event along with an 18-channel ULX-D digital wireless system and a 10-channel PSM1000 personal monitoring system. Also implemented were several antennas, delivering wireless signal from the 100m x 30m performance area.
