Stage monitors prepared for the road
The W8 and W12 stage monitors have now joined the MM-Acoustics range following road testing across the summer of 2015. The two wedges form the manufacturer’s W series.
Described by the manufacturer as ‘touring grade’, both monitors have reportedly been developed with the goal of making life easier for monitor engineers and artists alike. To that end, the enclosures, both pole-mountable and constructed out of Baltic Birch, are passive rather than bi-amplified.
More specifically, the coaxial W8 operates within a reported 60Hz to 20kHz frequency range, comprises a 1-inch exit polyester diaphragm compression driver and an 8-inch woofer in a bass reflex configuration.
The W8 is pole mountable making it very usable for various portable PA applications. The W12 has a 12-inch woofer with a 3-inch voice coil and a triple demodulating ring, plus a 1-inch exit annular ring polyester diaphragm compression driver. The enclosure offers 80-×60-degree directivity within 60Hz and 20kHz.
