TW Audio reinforces Malaysian Independence Day

MALAYSIA: TW Audio Asia provided support to rental company, Fajar Baiduri Events (FBE) as it deployed the manufacturer’s systems during the recent Hari Merdeka Parade (Independence Day Parade) in Kuala Lumpur’s Merdeka Square. FBE worked closely with government officials and the Malaysian Department of Information during a two-month planning period to ensure the parade went off without a hitch.

Providing sound reinforcement around the square were 24 Vera36 and 12 Vera 10 line array elements with eight S33 subwoofers. Meanwhile, delivering coverage to those seated in the VIP grandstand were four clusters of three Vera36, each one flown above a pair of groundstacked S33s. The parade marches past the square and the VIP grandstand down a 1km stretch, along which 24 Vera10 elements and 16 S30 subs were distributed evenly. Lab.gruppen amplifiers powered the entire system.

‘This is the first year in the many years I've organised the celebrations, that the first PA setup worked right away,’ noted Tengku Abdul Halim, the event’s technical director. ‘FBE did a very good job together with Augustine Edward from TW Audio Asia, from the planning phase to choosing the right system, setting it up and aligning it under consideration of the various, sometimes difficult, sound requirements for the 1km stretch of the parade, the VIP grand stand and the square itself. The sound was crystal clear and the intelligibility incredibly good.’
