X marks the spot for DAS Audio and Neuro Tech Asia
CHINA: DAS Audio sound systems were deployed by Shanghai-based Neuro Tech Asia for the launch of Vivo Electronics’ latest smartphone, the Vivo Xplay 5. The unveiling took place at Beijing’s Olympic swimming facility, the Water Cube, and joining Neuro Tech Asia was technical director German Rodriguez from DAS Audio’s exclusive Chinese distributor, Chao GanGuan, who provided additional support with the design and setup.
Neuro Tech Asia had been employed to provide the event’s A/V and lighting setup by the event organiser, Auditoire Agency, which also enlisted video content from Superbien and as well as bringing in Flexx Ballet from Russia for a performance. The stage was laid out to form a giant X over the water, playing up the name of the new phone, posing an extra challenge to the A/V team of providing a sound system that performed well, without taking away from the stage’s aesthetics.
To leap this hurdle, Neuro Tech Asia made use of its recently acquired Aero Series 2 systems as these are designed to serve as compact solutions with increased power handling and decreased distortion. The main system comprised 20 Aero 40 Advanced Line Array Systems (ALAS) flown with 12 Aero 20A line arrays. A total of 12 LX-218CA.net powered subwoofers were ground stacked in front of the stage to complement the line arrays.
Also implemented were 16 Vantec 12A systems, which served as side-fills, while four DASnet racks remotely managed the setup. A pair of DSP-4080 and two DSP-2060A signal processors were also utilised.
