L-Acoustics draws on K2 for X Series

L-Acoustics has called on the R&D it put into K2 for the development of its three-member X Series of coaxial speakers. Aimed the installation and rental markets, the X Series includes high-excursion neodymium drivers, ellipsoid directivity, laminar vented ports and up to 30 per cent weight reduction. When used as a stage monitor, L-Acoustics describes the X Series as offering ‘low latency monitor presets and a 7 per cent lower profile’. For the installation market, the X Series comes with a range of rigging accessories and a RAL custom colour programme.

Eighteen Sound ships coaxial models

Eighteen Sound has added the 8CX650 and 10CX650 to its family of coaxial loudspeakers, featuring ferrite motors to provide extended LF. The 8- and 10-inch models exert a nominal dispersion of 90-degrees, whilst the 2.5-inch LF copper voice-coil employs the Italian manufacturer’s Interleaved Sandwich Voice coil (ISV) technology, reportedly resulting in a linear motor assembly.

Alcons targets tour sound after five-year LR28 development

Described as the result of five years of development and carrying the promise of ‘fully predictable performance, without any colouration’, the LR28 has debuted from Alcons Audio following two full years of beta testing to ensure ‘proof of concept’ within its target markets of touring sound and large installations. The R&D process behind the flagship system has reportedly led to two patents pending alongside an already existing four, while the manufacturer has declared that the system is ‘not only predictable in terms of sound response, but also in projection and throw’.

Active Integration meets Dante in WorxAudio TrueLine range

Following its recent acquisition by PreSonus, US-based manufacturer WorxAudio is now combining the Active Integration (AI) technology pioneered by its new parent company with the SL-Dante-SPK card, bringing AI technology and Dante together for the first time. The combination is making its debut in the TrueLine X2i-P/D, X3i-P/D, and X5i-P/D line array systems, which are accompanied by the X115i-P/D and X118i-P/D subwoofers.
