Growing the network

d&b audiotechnik and Peavey MediaMatrix have launched an amplifier plug-in which will make a d&b sound reinforcement system accessible via any MediaMatrix control method. The plug-in is for the MediaMatrix Nion DSP and nControl PC and joins the likes of Q-Sys and Beckhoff as the German loudspeaker manufacturer aims to improve its third party integration.

The system is designed and managed via PC with the MediaMatrix NWare software, and accessed and controlled wirelessly with any smart device supporting HTML5 via the Kiosk2Go remote control platform. The system can also be controlled using wall panels, touchscreen devices and GPIOs.

The plug-in itself provides control parameters to adjust the mute status, levels, power On/Off, and alter the AmpPreset. Critical status information can be monitored and MediaMatrix logs all audio connections to amplifiers, and the operating state of connected loudspeakers.

The first large project to use the plug-in was the Amsterdam Arena. Here the ArrayProcessed d&b Y-Series speakers and 30D amps system have been networked with MediaMatrix as the control backbone.
