DiGiCo marks its 10th year with free console upgrades
DiGiCo has announced that to celebrate its 10th anniversary, it will provide free upgrades to each of its SD consoles for existing customers.
Each of the SD consoles will receive significant upgrades in both software and firmware. DiGiCo reports that in some cases the feature expansion represents a 100 per cent increase to the current specification. The offer is open to any new customers purchasing an SD console up until the last day of ProLight+Sound 2012.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer has also released the Remote Rack PSU (RR-PSU) for its range of digital mixing consoles. Intended for ‘level sensitive’ theatres and halls, the RR-PSU has been designed to remove any fan noise.
The RR-PSU is available in two modules: one incorporates a single multi-pin connector, and the other is a 3U rack-mount unit with a corresponding multi-pin connector and two power supply sockets. These two modules are connected via a 5m-long cable which allows the power supply to sit in a remote location.
The RR-PSU can be used with SD8, SD9, SD10 and SD11 consoles.
The Mini and Nano racks are also new from the manufacturer, offering a wide range of input and output options for any DiGiCo SD audio system.
Multiple mixing consoles can be positioned in an Optocore 2G optical loop, making the racks suitable for complex live or broadcast productions where multiple consoles need to share and sub-mix I/O.
DiGiCo is keen to highlight that the racks’ I/O connections can be distributed throughout a venue at the most convenient points, rather than having to be in one place.
The Mini rack has four standard SD hot swappable I/O card slots. These can be populated with any combination of the SD-Rack I/O cards.
