WORLD: The IABM has appointed a new board of directors following an election among its members. The board of directors is responsible for the organisation’s overall strategy, policies and finances. An election takes place every two years.
Newly-elected members of the board of directors are: Dr Jörg Pohlman from Arri, Kevin Usher of Avid, Nicki Fisher from Clear-Com, Muriel De Lathouwer from EVS Broadcast Equipment, Lawo’s Andreas Hilmer, Alison Pavitt of Pebble Beach, Tim Felstead from SAM, Tedial’s Esther Mesas, Telstra’s Anna Lockwood and David MacGregor from TSL. They join re-elected members James Gilbert of Pixel Power who serves as chair, former chair Jan Eveleens of Axon, Marco Lopez of Grass Valley Group, Glenn LeBrun of Imagine Communications and Peter Sykes from Sony. Those re-elected are voted for by the outgoing board to ensure continuity.

The IABM also confirmed that it had welcomed 53 new member companies between March and the beginning of July. This makes for 67 new members during 2017 so far, with a total membership of 495.
