International production standards at ICF

SWITZERLAND: The International Christian Fellowship (ICF) has made the recently opened Samsung Hall its new home in Zurich. A state-of-the-art events centre that hosts pop concerts, large conferences and all manner of live production, Samsung Hall offers ICF a wide range of A/V equipment to use for the services in its hometown.

The venue’s A/V setup was designed by Event AG, a systems integrator that knows ICF well. ‘We’ve worked closely with the ICF for a number of years now on its A/V needs, and when the church decided to rent the new hall, it was the perfect scenario for us,’ recalls Simon Bachofen of Event AG. ‘Having a long term client like the ICF within the hall gave us invaluable insight into how any potential solution would need to work in order for us to deliver a multipurpose venue.’

Samsung Hall’s A/V solutions include a variety of Blackmagic Design solutions, including Universal Videohub 288x288 and 72x72 video routers, Mini, Micro and Teranex Mini converters. These are integrated across a fibre network with five Ursa Mini 4.6K cameras, six Studio Cameras and two Micro Studio Camera 4Ks at the start of the video signal chain. The signal is routed to an Atem 2 M/E Production Studio 4K and Atem 2 M/E Broadcast Panel in the production gallery with content ultimately output to a 120m2 LED screen on stage and repeater monitors throughout the facility.

‘The ICF’s A/V requirements within Samsung Hall are extensive, however the system has proven itself from the outset to be the flexible and professional solution that we needed it to be,’ says Mr Bachofen. ‘We now have a world class facility that can cater to just about any live event and that delivers whether it is being used by church volunteers or some of the world’s most respected live producers.’
