A Legend is born with Ashly

MACAU: The five-star Legend Palace Hotel recently opened its doors in Macau, offering more than 200 rooms, six restaurants, a conference centre, health and spa facilities, recreational activities and views overlooking Pearl River. Providing the soundtrack throughout the luxury hotel is an audio system designed and installed to Legend Palace’s required standards by DC Systems Digital Communications, comprising 700 ceiling speakers that are powered by 504 separate channels from 76 Ashly amplifiers.
DC Systems installed microphones and user-controlled auxiliary inputs for several zones, including the conference centre. However, for most of the hotel the systems integrator was simply required to deliver a high-fidelity music playback system.
‘Meeting the high standards of the Legend Palace and yet keeping the project on a reasonable budget was a value-engineering challenge for us,’ recalled DC Systems project manager TC Chiu. ‘Perfect fidelity was very important; the hotel did not want anything that would sound cheap. Because so many amplifier channels would be required, we also needed something that would be absolutely reliable. Ashly was a natural choice.’
To handle the distributed ceiling speaker zones, a total of 46 Ashly ne8250.10 eight-channel network amplifiers were deployed, as well as 22 ne8250.10 four-channel versions. For low impedance loudspeakers, four ne8250 and four nX1.54 multi-mode amplifiers were installed.
‘The Ashly-based system at Legend Palace Hotel is everything the client had hoped for,’ concluded Mr Chiu. ‘It is stable and reliable, 24/7 services and the sound quality is excellent.’
