Adam Hall Singapore showroom opens to acclaim

SINGAPORE: June 19th marked the official opening of the Singapore-based showroom of Adam Hall Asia Pte Ltd, the Asia-focused subsidiary of German manufacturer Adam Hall GmbH. Attended by industry luminaries including systems integrators, consultants and members of the press, the opening event saw Adam Hall GmbH COO and managing director, Markus Jahnel, and Adam Hall Asia managing director, Chandan Mahtani, deliver speeches to celebrate the occasion.
Measuring 300 sq-m with a mezzanine level overlooking the main floor, the showroom is intended as a showcase venue for the entire Adam Hall catalogue including brands such as Cameo Lights, LD Systems, Palmer, Defender, Gravity and Adam Hall itself. Its opening follows the 2014 creation of the Singapore subsidiary and the later appointment of Mr Mahtani to lead the operation.
Also present at the event was head of global business development Bodo Falkenried, who told Pro Audio Asia why now is the right time to open the showroom. ‘It was the logical next step to offer this location as a support to our regional partners,’ he explained. ‘Adam Hall has recently developed so many new products – more than 100 were introduced at Pro Light & Sound 2015 – that we need to display them properly here in Singapore, to give our customers the Adam Hall look, feel and sound.’
He added that the company’s decision to invest in Asia has already proven a success. ‘The rapid growth of our APAC operation and our success in so many Asian countries is evidence that we have done the right thing with our decision to head to Asia.’ Regarding the appointment of Mr Mahtani, he added, ‘We have known Mr Mahtani for a long time and we have been impressed by his competence and capability in our industry. We are very excited to have him onboard spearheading Adam Hall Asia. He is a true industry figure and with him Adam Hall is now a strong force in the market.’
During the event attendees were impressed by the size of the showroom, and Mr Falkenried was quick to explain why. ‘As a German manufacturer we want to show how serious we are about this investment and our expansion plans for the APAC region,’ he explained. ‘Adam Hall is not a "one shot then leave" company and with such a large number of product lines – audio, lighting, accessories, hardware and fittings – we simply need the space.’
With the showroom now open plans are being made for product launches and demonstrations plus ‘workshops, seminars and many other events which we are planning as a permanent offering to our partners and their clients,’ said Mr Falkenried. Crucially, he stressed that it is not intended as a retail environment. ‘This is a showroom, not a retail shop – Adam Hall is not selling direct to market but solely via partners.’
Finally, Mr Falkenried revealed that the manufacturer is next intending to open a warehouse in Ningbo, China, thereby strengthening its Asian operation.
