Adamson powers UMF Korea 2015

KOREA: Moving to a new location in Seoul, the Jamsil Supplementary Stadium, this year’s Ultra Music Festival (UMF) Korea once again selected audio equipment from Adamson to pump up the 10,000 EDM fans in attendance. With the stadium’s pitch converted into a gigantic outdoor club for the two-day festival, Alpha Media Group (Alpha Sound) deployed the manufacturer’s E-Series loudspeakers.

The PA consisted of main left-right arrays comprising 12 E15 and two E12 enclosures per side. Seven E218 subwoofers were stacked on the stage under each line array, with four more E218s ground stacked in front of the stage for further bass support. Six S10 enclosures were placed along the lip of the stage for front fill.

‘It was a very stable system that handled the dynamic range of EDM without missing a beat, explained FOH engineer, Taejong Park. ‘The sound was very clean, especially the low end.’

Monitoring for the DJs was handled by six Adamson S10 enclosures, three per side and stacked on a single subwoofer. The entire system was driven by Lab.gruppen PLM20kQ and PLM12k44 amplifiers with two Lake LM44 units for processing.

Sun Kim, technical support manager for Adamson’s Korean distributor, Sound Solutions, assisted with system design by utilising the manufacturer’s Blueprint AV software. ‘We were very pleased with the Adamson system at the show,’ added Mr Kim. ‘The field was transformed into a dance club and the music was exceptional. Adamson is the top name in the business and they lived up to their reputation.’
