CHINA: AKG’s CS5 conferencing system has been installed at the Beijing Workers’ Service Centre in China to provide translation and interpretation capabilities. The system, installed by audio equipment supplier and integrator Beijing Respectful Electronic Technology Company Ltd, is able to simultaneously translate into a variety of languages required by the client and has reportedly resulted in improved voice clarity during meetings.
‘When tasked with this project, we were looking for stable system performance, simultaneous translation into seven different languages and clear sound input,’ commented Yin Wang, technician at Beijing Respectful Electronic Technology Company Ltd. ‘With the AKG CS5 conferencing system, I believe we have found what we were looking for. This system really gives us great voice clarity and stability, so conferences can continue smoothly and uninterrupted.’
The main conference system is formed from two AKG CS5 VU voting units, 39 CS5 DU delegate units, three CS5 IU interpreter units and a single CS5 BU base unit. Five CS5 CU50 units have been deployed for charging and storage. The delegate and chairman units have been equipped with a total of 41 GN30 and CK31 microphone capsules.
To cater for interpretation, 10 CS5 IRT1 infrared transmitters and 250 CS5 IRR7 infrared receivers were deployed in addition to 253 K99 Perception headphones – one for each receiver in addition to the three interpreters.
‘We needed multilingual translation capabilities because the conference room is often used for international meetings, but we also needed good headphones so that voices remain clear,' added Mr Wang. ‘The AKG K99 Perception headphones have performed reliably throughout all of the meetings so far.’
