INDIA: UK-based console manufacturer Allen & Heath recently embarked on a series of training seminars in India designed to introduce customers to its iLive digital mixing system. The three-date tour was organised in tandem with the manufacturer’s distributor Sun Infonet.
Stopping in Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Kolkata, the seminars were split into three areas focusing in turn on the company’s ZED range, the GL series and iLive/iDR. The roadshow reportedly attracted over 100 attendees selected from Sun Infonet’s customer base. Among them were PA owners and operators, dealers and installation contractors with broadcast experience.
‘Digital mixing is in its infancy in India,’ explained Sun Infonet director Neeraj Chandra. ‘However, enthusiasm is high, particularly in the territories we were targeting with our roadshow, and customers were very keen to get their hands on iLive, as well as Allen & Heath’s other new products. Sales growth for Allen & Heath consoles in India over the last two years has been phenomenal, and the roadshow demonstrated Allen & Heath’s commitment to servicing its Indian customers.’
Adding own thoughts on the territory was Allen & Heath product manager Leon Philips: ‘I thought there was a very good knowledge of digital and IT solutions,’ he reflected. ‘Several engineers who had operated competitor digital consoles were keen to come and compare their experiences.’
