Allen & Heath and all that jazz

TAIWAN: An Allen & Heath dLive digital mixing system was implemented at FOH during the recent Taichung Jazz Festival at the request of sound engineer Kao Min-Fu. The annual festival takes place in the West District of Taichung over a period of 10 days. The 2016 edition featured performances from a variety of Taiwanese and international artists, including the Taipei Jazz orchestra, the James Carter Organ Trio, Jane Monheit, and Lullaby for Youth with Billy Drummond on drums.

The dLive system, which was supplied by local PA company Just Music, comprised an S5000 surface and a DM64 MixRack. ‘I requested dLive because I am very impressed with its simple and intuitive interface, which meant all the different sound engineers over the 10-day event could easily navigate the controls,’ explained Mr Min-Fu. ‘dLive also has extremely advanced processing power, and the dynamics and FX package are excellent quality.’
