Alvin Koh becomes L-Acoustics applications engineer for Asia

ASIA: L-Acoustics has announced industry veteran Alvin Koh as its new applications engineer for Asia, describing the appointment as reinforcing its ‘growth and commitment to its customer base throughout the Asian region’. Mr Koh will be based in Kuala Lumpur, providing technical support for the company’s regional distribution network.
Having led a career spanning more than two decades, Mr Koh formerly owned his own consultancy, Clef Production, which was formed in 1996. He also previously worked for Singapore-based Pantomime Entertainment Pte Ltd, starting as a sound engineer and eventually becoming the Malaysian director. His experience as a front of house engineer and systems engineer includes working for artists such as Bryan Adams, Cyndi Lauper, Sting, Depeche Mode, Phil Collins, Santana, Mariah Carey, and more.
Following the announcement, Florent Bernard, director of application, touring, commented, ‘When I first met Alvin, I was impressed by his technical expertise, product knowledge and communication abilities within a team. After working for us as an independent consultant for almost a year, it only seemed natural to offer this newly created position’.
Cédric Montrezor, director of application, install, added that Mr Koh will ‘serve as the primary technical contact for our Asian distributors for the installation projects providing sound design support, product demonstration support and system calibration. With his experience, I am confident Alvin will be a great asset’.
Meanwhile, regional sales manager for Asia, David Cooper, suggested that Mr Koh will also be central to L-Acoustics’ education efforts throughout Asia. ‘Systematic training is a key core value at L-Acoustics and one that is recognised by our customers. Alvin’s appointment will help to ensure that we efficiently deliver our training programs as well as expand our overall support in a region that is flourishing for us.’
Mr Koh concluded, ‘As a sound expert in this field, I have been a fan of L-Acoustics for years, so I am thrilled to be joining the company. Their commitment to the Asian market is indisputable, and I am looking forward to further strengthening the brand in this region’.
