PHILIPPINES: Australian manufacturer ARX Systems has announced Manila-based Yupangco Electronics Corporation (YEC) as its new distributor for the Philippines following an initial conversation at Frankfurt Pro Light and Sound early in 2010.
Described by ARX managing director Colin Park as ‘one of the mainstays of our industry in South East Asia’, YEC was founded by Gary A Yupangco in 1967, and is considered by many to be the leading professional audio and MI distributor within the country, operating more 30 stores and 35 music schools. Other brands included within the supplier’s inventory include Yamaha, Audio-Technica, Klotz Cables, Studiomaster, Coneq, and Orpheo Audio-Guide, plus a wealth of MI brands. Discussions aimed at securing the distribution agreement were reportedly initiated by Mr Park and YEC president Jose Mari L Yupangco.
‘YEC is excited by the prospect of introducing our USB DI series of interfaces, MSX series of signal distribution products and AudiBox series of audio toolbox essentials products to its pro audio and broadcast clients and markets,’ explained Mr Park, who added that ARX is excited to be working with the company.
