ASCL completes A/V refurbishment of HKFC

HONG KONG: The latest phase of A/V renovation at the Hong Kong Stadium, home to the Hong Kong Football Club (HKFC), is now complete, with a new A/V system in the venue’s multifunction hall specified by Ian Harris Designs and supplied and installed by ASCL.
A total of 20 QSC AD-C1200 ceiling speakers have been installed throughout the hall, and can be divided into 10 zones, allowing different parts of the room to be used independently or combined into one complete system. ASCL has painted the speakers blue to match the room’s décor. At the heart of the new PA system is a QSC Q-Sys Core 250i integrated system core, providing centralised digital processing, routing and networking. Control is via a Crestron CP3 control system interfaced with an Apple iPad, while wall panels around the room allow mics, iPods and other third party devices to be connected to the system.
This is the last of several Q-Sys systems installed throughout the club by ASCL in other locations including the stadium itself. Work began last April, and the renovation project is now complete. ‘The club has found Q-Sys to be very suitable for their purposes and decided to install another system into this hall,’ said ASCL assistant project engineer, Leung Chi Keung.
The hall is mainly used for sporting events but can also be hired for weddings, corporate events and parties. ASCL has provided a portable audio system for such occasions, consisting of two Renkus-Heinz ICL-R IC Live eight channel portable self-powered steerable arrays with two IC215S-R IC Live dual 15-inch subwoofers, a PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2 mixer, a Rane ME60S graphic equaliser, Shure ULXD4D wireless microphone system and four Shure SM58 mics for vocals. The system is for the exclusive use of this hall, and can be wheeled in whenever required.
ASCL also provided a video system for the multifunction hall including an Extron AVT 100P PAL analogue closed circuit TV tuner, an Apple TV, a Sony BDP-S790 Blu-ray player and Extron matrix switchers.
