Audac reinforces the Lower Plenty Hotel

AUSTRALIA: The Lower Plenty Hotel, in the suburban city of Banyule on the outskirts of Melbourne, recently underwent a major renovation that included the addition of two new function spaces, a 300-seat bistro and bar, and a large elevated outdoor decking area. SBROTN Audio has worked with the venue on various projects over the years and was once again called upon to update the audio system as part of the refurbishment, opting to install a solution from Audac.

The installation was built around pair of Audac’s MTX88 8-zone audio matrix systems. The outdoor decking area and outside function areas have been equipped with four WX502/O outdoor loudspeakers, while the large LED screen that shows sporting events on the decking has been connected to two AXIR/O weatherproof column speakers, chosen for their discreet design in addition to the sound quality.

Meanwhile, four CS75 ceiling speakers have been deployed across the venue to deliver distributed audio coverage throughout, while a CAP242 four-channel amplifier and two EPA104 four-channel Class-D amps provide power to the system.

‘We needed to create a 16-zone solution to cater for the various spaces and function areas,’ recalled Gary Honeyman from SBROTN Audio. ‘The Audac MTX88 system had all the features we needed and is so competitively priced that we decided to install two of them. This allowed us to do everything we needed at a much cheaper price than other competing products we looked at. Plus, with the release of Audac Touch, we are able to control both devices from a single interface.’
