Audio-Technica road show heads to Guangzhou

CHINA: Audio-Technica (Greater China) stopped in Guangzhou at the end of July as part of its road show tour of the whole of China. Setting off from Shanghai on 15th July, the tour also visited Chengo, Chongqing, Shijiazhang, Nanning, Kunming, Shenyang and Jinan with the aim of promoting the new ATUC-50 handheld digital conference and System 10 Pro digital wireless systems.

At the Guangzhou event, Jerry Woo, Audio Technica (Greater China)’s PA department marketing manager introduced the history of company, while the department’s sales director, Tao Yong, shared his experiences of conference systems in the Chinese market. The manufacturer’s systems have been installed or used at several high-profile venues and events in China, such as the 2008 Olympics, Grand National Theatre and Great Hall of the People. The company also aims to become the chosen brand for Chinese government conferences.

Mr Tao cited several cases to explain the specialty of the Chinese conference market and offered advice on ‘how to choose the best product from the user’s point of view’ and ‘letting the user experience the value of the products’. He then introduced the key product, Audio Technica’s first hand-in-hand digital conference system – ATUC-50, which he explained is the result of more than two years of market and customer research in order to solve issues common with handheld conference systems.

The main features of the ATUC-50 were described as being the DSP-equipped master unit, four audio matrix outputs, switchable delegate and chairman units up to a maximum of 50, integrated recording functionality and remote control of the whole system via a web remote program.

Mr Woo then went on to introduce the System 10 Pro 2.4GHz wireless digital system. Compared to the U-band mic, the 2.4GHz mic is reportedly more resilient to interference, is more lightweight and offers a higher digital transmission speed.
