Australian Export Awards recognises Røde as top export manufacturer

AUSTRALIA: The Australian Export Awards recently honoured Røde Microphones with the coveted ‘Manufacturing Award’ at its annual presentation dinner at the Great Hall at the National Gallery Victoria, Melbourne. The award is considered to be one of the highest possible business accolades that can be bestowed upon an Australian-based business.

Australia’s prime minister, the Right Honourable Tony Abbott, was present at the awards ceremony and praised the company for ‘innovation in marketing strategy, the degree of export growth and the creation of competitive advantage’.

Røde recently doubled the size of its manufacturing plant and company headquarters in Sydney, significantly increasing its capacity to meet the expanding international demand for its products, as well as further vertically integrating its operations.

‘Their international success enhances our overall economic diplomacy,’ commented national trade and investment minister, Andrew Robb, following the awards presentation. ‘They represent the vanguard of Australia's international businesses, and the awards recognise that.’

‘This truly is the highest compliment that Røde has been given in more than 20 years of business,’ enthused Røde’s founder and managing director, Peter Freedman. ‘We’re proud to be Australian – designing and manufacturing the world’s very best microphones right here in Sydney and shipping them to every corner of the globe.’

Twelve companies in total were recognised for their exporting across categories such as health service, agriculture and business services. Together, the 76 finalists contributed $9.1 billion in export earnings to the Australian economy, and between them employ more than 22,000 people.
