Barco partners with MBO Cinemas for laser projection in Malaysia

MALAYSIA: MBO Cinemas has announced the construction of Malaysia’s first all-laser theatre. Powered exclusively by Barco laser projectors, the new cinema in Kuala Lumpur will be the chain’s flagship entertainment complex in the country. In its other theatres, MBO plans to also install nine laser phosphor projectors.
The new projector chosen for the Kuala Lumpur venue was Barco’s DP4K-30L flagship laser projector, which was reported selected not just for its image quality as the company will benefit from the lack of lamp changes to reduce its costs and improve its cinema operations. The new equipment will be installed at the Kuala Lumpur complex in February 2017, anticipating the summer blockbuster season
