Beijing Film Academy opens China’s first domestic Nuage studio

CHINA: The Beijing Film Academy (BFA) has opened China’s first domestic Nuage-equipped postproduction studio, named the Beijing Film Academy Experiment Center. The new facility – which is intended to become an educational resource for the Academy’s teachers and students – was recently launched with a special opening ceremony held in tandem with Nuage manufacturer Yamaha.

Among the dignitaries in attendance at the opening ceremony – overseen by Tong Lei, director of the BFA recording department – were the BFA’s Professor Hou Guangming and Seiichi Yamaguchi, the general manager of Yamaha Music & Electronics (China). Together, they unveiled a commemorative nameplate marking the creation of the new facility, while both delivering speeches to the assembled guests.

‘As the leading film institution in China, the Beijing Film Academy has trained many excellent and talented members of the industry,’ commented Mr Yamaguchi. ‘Establishing this studio offers an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the Nuage platform.’
