Bose ShowMatch debuts in Singapore

SINGAPORE: Bose Professional recently staged a presentation at the Hard Rock Hotel’s Coliseum venue on Sentosa Island to launch its ShowMatch DeltaQ array for Sinagporean market. ‘Singapore is the 25th stop of our DeltaQ roadshow around the world,’ said Fuat Koro, director of global marketing and business development of Bose’s professional division. ‘We’re happy with the attendance.’
With live music and opulent catering on one hand, Bose’s sales engineer Scott Angove’s in-depth presentations of the ShowMatch DeltaQ system on the other drew much attention of the well over 100 people in attendance, from both install and rental audio pros in the region.
Bose’s DeltaQ comprises three speaker models, named SM5, SM10 and SM20, differing in vertical coverage of either 5-, 10- or 20-degrees. ‘Our competitors have been around for 10 or 15 years here in South East Asia,’ Mr Koro noted. ‘We’re taking a different approach and are presenting a game changer with DeltaQ technology. It’s not only targeted at fixed installs and acoustically challenging venues, but also for the portable market.’
‘ShowMatch DeltaQ is a very decent sounding system, and the rigging is simple and a big time saver on tour,’ explained Anatole Day, freelance sound engineer and owner of DayTime Audio in Sydney, Australia. ‘This rig here was up in maybe 15 minutes. I’m thinking about taking the system on a 40-date tour starting in October. Most of the venues are theatre-style, so we’ll benefit from the system’s waveguides by setting the coverage once before the tour to the optimum for the vast majority of venues.’
Also on site was Christian Liebenberg, regional sales manager for Bose, who was preparing for his relocation from Dubai to Singapore shortly after the event. Singaporean pro audio veteran Yusof Ahmad, who joined Bose recently in the role of sales manager for South East Asia, commented positively, ‘We collaborate very well. So, I appreciate the move and look forward to Christian strengthening our team here in Singapore.’
