Brandon Khoo chooses A-T for HÅG performance

SINGAPORE: Audio-Technica microphones were the preferred pickup solution for the latest Orchard Road Pedestrian Night. Taking place in the heart of Singapore on the first Saturday of each month, the street is closed off to traffic and transformed into a bustling thoroughfare. To kick off the New Year, the pedestrian night on January 2nd showcased a Chingay meet and greet session, tech games by Samsung and a stage show presented by HÅG group. Audio-Technica cooperated with the Scandinavian office furniture manufacturer to promote its newest line of chairs with performances from a variety of local acts.

HÅG invited Singaporean rock drummer Brandon Khoo to tailor a drum session using a traditional drum set together with its chairs. Mr Khoo specifically requested A-T mics for the showcase.

‘I make sure the instruments that I use, sing,’ offered Mr Khoo. ‘But to project the exact sound that I hear behind the drum set to an audience, I need a mic that I can trust. Audio-Technica gives me that trust, that trust to know that my sound is not compromised, trust that the microphones are of the highest quality and most importantly, trust that they will always be there for me.’

Mr Khoo has been working to bring the ‘Freestroke Technique’ to drummers in Singapore and is currently a featured artist of TRX Cymbols, Aquarian, Cympads, Groove Juice, Vater Drumsticks and Mapex Drums.
