Budee hosts DK-Technologies seminars in China

CHINA: Recent seminars held jointly by the broadcast division of Beijing Budee Pacific Technology Development Co Ltd on loudness processing in TV and radio production and broadcast were supported by German manufacturer DK-Technologies. Taking place consecutively in Changsha, Nanjing, Hangzhou and Beijing, DK-Technologies CEO Karsten Hansen was invited to discuss the application of loudness processing with technical directors from the Radio and Television Bureaus of Hunan, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, together with attendees from broadcasters Beijing Television and CCTV.

The seminars explored the manufacturer’s history and Mr Hansen outlined his personal experience of working in the industry. Making an appearance was the manufacturer’s new audio and loudness meter, DK 77. The discussion covered how the parameters provided by video measurement tools can solve the lip sync problems in a real live broadcast situation.

Mr Hansen also demonstrated the DK-Technologies Android Apps application. He let a computer play back a video of the Apps recorded beforehand, to simulate the scene of the software running on a mobile phone in front of a camera. The device detected the delay between audio and video on the basis of green and red colours along with low level and high level of audio, and calculated the amount of delay accordingly.
