BW Broadcast keeps the airwaves open in Nepal

NEPAL: Following the recent earthquake in Nepal, BW Broadcast Transmitters were deployed by non-profit organisation First Response Radio to reinstate communications across the country. The company used the transmitters to deliver critical safety information to isolated communities in the first 72 hours after the disaster.
The ‘radio in a suitcase’ taken out by the team includes the BW Broadcast TX600V2 FM transmitter, which allowed the organisation to get radio stations back on the air quickly. ‘I wanted to buy a BW, they are my transmitter of choice – you have to pay more for good quality that won't let you down,’ offered Mike Adams from First Response Radio. ‘That will always be our policy.’
The manufacturer donated equipment to its Nepalese Distributor, Sushmit International, who assisted Mr Adams with getting the station back on air. ‘We were very grateful that Sushil was able to set us up with a unit at 100W very quickly,’ recalled Mr Adams. ‘I was in and out of the office in about an hour with a unit in hand. I feel very supported by the global BW family.’
‘We have donated equipment in the past for similar type disasters, such as the Typhoon in the Philippines,’ said BW Broadcast’s Brendan Lofty. ‘We support and admire the work of Mike Adams and his team and were glad that with the help of our Nepalese dealer we were able assist in some small way to the dreadful situation in Nepal.’
