TAIWAN: The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) plays an important role in the everyday lives of the citizens of Taiwan. It is administered under the country’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications with headquarters in Taipei City. In addition to forecasting the weather as well as reporting on earthquakes and other natural disasters, it plays a pivotal part in disaster prevention. Therefore, communication is key within the organisation and to this end, the CWB previously formed a relationship with conferencing system manufacturer BXB for its earthquake alarm system.
‘To enhance public welfare, both BXB and the CWB are devoted to promoting early earthquake alarms,’ the Taiwanese manufacturer stated. ‘BXB offers the Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) app for free to the public, making sure that everyone gets an announcement instantly, decreasing the harm an earthquake may bring.’
The partnership between the CWB and BXB has also led to the manufacturer’s conference solutions being installed inside one of the weather bureau’s meeting rooms. The installation was of an FCS-6300 conference system, comprising an FCS-6350 main control unit with a UFO-6311 table-top chairman microphones and 43 UFO-6312 delegate units.
