Carl Cox takes ADAM to the studio

AUSTRALIA: Renowned producer and award-winning DJ, Carl Cox, has kitted out his new studio with ADAM Audio S3X-H monitors. The DJ selected the monitors after working on his All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor album with David Carbone and Josh Abrahams at Samplify in Melbourne.
‘At Samplify, they had the ADAMs and I heard them,’ explained Mr Cox. ‘They were exactly what I was looking for – the depth, scope, dimension. These speakers could give me the reference that I needed, that I could pinpoint the thickness that I want.’
The producer and DJ described how the S3X-H monitors solved a recurring issue while recording in the studio, in defining the bass tone that will be heard in a nightclub setting. ‘That’s what I like about the ADAMs,’ he said. ‘I can take a track out more or less straight from the studio and can play it knowing that how it sounded in the studio will be how it sounds in the club.
‘If you’re in the studio all the time for 12-hour stints, you need a speaker that makes the sounds pleasant,’ the DJ added. ‘When you go down quite low, you can still pinpoint exactly what you need and you can tweak things at low volume, so if you push that right up, the sound is just incredible.’
