Cerebrum makes its Chinese debut with Liaoning TV and Radio

CHINA: Axon equipment has been used by Liaoning Radio and Television to help provide its newly-launched HD satellite broadcasts. The project included two HD channels and one HD master control system and features monitoring and control from the manufacturer’s Cerebrum software – its first use in China – as well as signal processing from the Synapse platform.

Cerebrum is able to control and monitor a plethora of devices thanks to its support for the SNMP protocol, Axon’s CAP protocol or the General Devices protocol. At Liaoning, the software is used to monitor the two large screens that display an overview of the broadcast signal flow. It also removed the need for multiple manufacturers' control panels through using universal CCP panels with a unified design. This reportedly reduced the number of operational errors and generated cost and space savings for the client.

Part of the Cerebrum deployment also included the installation and configuration of a master and redundant to server to provide system reliability and safety.

The broadcaster is said to be very happy with the new equipment and is particularly satisfied with the results of Axon’s intelligent monitoring and control system.
