SINAPORE: A plethora of Christie projection was recently used in the main show for Singapore’s National Day Parade, which celebrated the 45th anniversary of Singapore declaring independence. An estimated 27,000 Singaporeans were in attendance.
Lasting 53 minutes, the event encompassed music, dance, fireworks and multimedia effects across four acts and a grand finale at the Padang Arena and City Hall building. A total of 18 Christie Roadster HD18K projectors were used for the event, mounted on three 37m high towers. Each tower boasted six projectors, reportedly illuminating a brightness of more than 100,000 Ansi-lumens from a distance of 162m, serving the largest backdrop in Singapore’s history at an impressive 80m x 37m. All of the projection equipment was supplied by Glorious Pte Ltd, who owns the largest fleet of Christie projectors in Southeast Asia.
‘Everyone was thrilled by the visuals,’ enthused Glorious director of multimedia Christopher Ee following the National Day Parade. ‘It was a significant and momentous event for us to provide the required staging to carry all 18 Christie Roadster HD18K projectors on the occasion of Singapore’s 45th birthday celebrations. The HD18K projectors evoked a new fervour of love and pride for Singapore.’
Lin Yu, vice president of Christie Asia Pacific, added that the manufacturer is ‘happy to support Singapore’s 45th birthday celebrations with our display technology.’
