Christie Roadster and The Magical Flute

KOREA: Mozart-composed fairy tale opera The Magical Flute (Die Zauberflöte) recently returned to the Seoul Arts Center (SAC) for a season following a successful run at the venue in 2015. As in the previous year, four Christie Roadster WU20K-J 3DLP projectors supplied the visual effects. The manufacturer’s Korean partner Imtec installed the projectors with the support of Christie Korea.
Two of the Roadster WU20K-J units delivered rear screen projection, while the other pair were implemented on the stage, with one located on the stage floor and the other suspended on the staging with the curtains. The four projectors combined to produce ‘lifelike visuals’ that enhanced the visual experience for the audience.
‘It is a wonderful combination of art and technology,’ noted Imtec director Min-Don Joo. ‘The Roadster WU20K-J projectors have delivered exciting visuals that not only brought the various scenes to life, but also enabled audiences to better appreciate the opera performance.’
