Chukyo Television Broadcasting creates IP ‘Studio Without Limits’

JAPAN: Japanese broadcaster Chukyo TV Broadcasting Co Ltd has acquired a ‘Studio Without Limits’ solution from Media Global Links Co, creating a content over IP workflow for the broadcaster’s new Nagoya-based facility.
The new home of Chukyo TV Broadcasting was completed in December 2015, with broadcasting due to commence in November of this year. The Media Links IP transport and switching solution is being used to connect Chukyo’s studios with the Nagoya Dome baseball stadium, while reportedly allowing the transmission of more content between external and in-house facilities. Additionally, the system is scalable, helping the broadcaster to move towards 4K and 8K.
At the heart of the IP system is Media Link’s NetGazer monitoring and management system, while a CoolFire IP Gateway enables broadcast formats to be transported as IP data streams. MDX 4090 IP video routers are also installed.
