Commercial lighting driven by Airstar China

CHINA: Airstar China has been kept busy recently, providing its lighting balloon solutions for a pair of commercial shoots in Shanghai. Both commercials were for German car manufacturers.
The first shoot took place in East Shanghai on an industrial park with filming conducted under artificial rain. Airstar deployed three 8K HA Tubes. These are directional balloon lights that illuminate subjects directly below and are stated by the manufacturer as being ‘especially effective at lighting automobiles for photography and film’.
The director of photography on this shoot was reportedly impressed, particularly by the output power and even spread of the lighting. ‘I was able to get such clarity in the details thanks to Airstar lighting,’ he said.
‘From the producer’s perspective, Airstar meant significant cost savings in particular because they didn’t need to rent the venue for a long time,’ explained Minjia Wu, branch executive manager of Airstar China Ltd. ‘As the Airstar team was fast responding, while the equipment was fast to deploy, it meant that they didn’t need extra lighting rental.’
The second commercial was shot at the North Bund Industrial Park of Hongkou, a site that Airstar has previously provided solutions at for a dozen similar projects. This shoot only required one 8K HA Tube.
‘Thanks to efficient, cost effective and easy to deploy lighting solutions, Airstar China is gaining more and more traction in TV commercial shoots,’ concluded Ms Wu.
