Cotton Press Studio invests in Focal Professional

INDIA: Cotton Press Studio in Parel, Mumbai recently invested in Focal Professional Twin 6 BE speakers and Focal Spirit professional headphones. Distributed by Rivera International, the new equipment will be used for mixing, mastering and critical listening.

Designed by Munro Acoustics, the acoustically treated room has a number of different acoustic zones for recording purposes, including a dry area, two live zones and a dead zone.

‘Cotton Press Studio is set up so that a band just has to plug in and all we have to do is press the record button,’ enthused a Cotton Press Studio representative. ‘They can record up to 10 musicians simultaneously – even a small orchestra or brass session.’

‘The Focal Twin6 BE studio monitors provide amazingly good low end for a system without a sub,’ said Tanmay Bhattacherjee from Cotton Press Studio, and member of the band Something Relevant. ‘Mixing the bass elements is very comfortable in a range of 40-100Hz. They provide a really sweet and detailed sounding top end, and of course the stereo image is incredible. Only when we shifted to the Twin6s did we realise how wide the stereo spectrum actually is.’

‘The Focal Spirits are the only pair of headphones I have used wherein the headphone mix translates perfectly to the studio near fields,’ added Jehangir Jehangir from Something Relevant. ‘They provide a perfect flat frequency response to prevent any unnecessary eqs.’
